‘HELPFUL HINTS’ – THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN PVCu WINDOWS
Open the window as far as you can and remove any built-up dirt by vacuuming in every alcove – including the hinge or opening mechanism.
If your vacuum has a soft brush nozzle, use it to minimise the risk of scratching your PVCu windows.
Use a bucket of warm soapy water (washing up liquid is ideal for this task) and a soft cloth or sponge to wipe down the dirty window. Do not use scouring pads or cream cleaners as they can scratch the PVCu and remove its ‘glossy’ finish.
Remove any excess water and dry using a clean and non-abrasive cloth such as a tea towel, kitchen roll or old T-shirt or rag.
To achieve crystal-clear window panes, mix 2 cups of water with 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup of liquid soap and lightly dip some old newspaper into the cleaning solution^. Use the newspaper to wipe the windows in a circular pattern to remove any smears, wax and dirty spots that have built-up on the glass.
^Do not drink this solution.

What is your Job Role?
My job role is Installation Co-ordinator and Customer Service
What are your main responsibilities in this role?
I have a lot of responsibility which I really enjoy these include Customer service calls, Surveys, I manage the fitters diaries and manage the remedials.
What is your favourite part of the role?
I find my role very satisfying, especially when I am able to fulfil all requirements for both the clients and other members of my team.
What do you do when you aren’t at work?
I have a little dog called Lenny who I love very much, I enjoy taking him for walks and spending time with him.
What do you like most about Autumn?
The leaves turning brown and falling from the trees.

SPINACH & CHICKPEA CURRY
A low fat, low calorie Indian vegan one-pot that’s full of delicious sunshine flavours and hot spice
- 2 tbsp mild curry paste
- 1 onion, chopped
- 400g can cherry tomato
- 2x400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 250g bag baby leaf spinach Squeeze lemon juice Basmati rice, to serve
Heat the curry paste in a large non-stick frying pan. Once it starts to split, add the onion and cook for 2 mins to soften. Tip in the tomatoes and bubble for 5 mins or until the sauce has reduced.
Add the chickpeas and some seasoning then cook for 1 min more. Take off the heat, then tip in the spinach and allow the heat of the pan to wilt the leaves. Season, add the lemon juice, and serve with basmati rice.
BEEF & SWEDE CASSEROLE
This gluten and dairy free casserole is hearty and comforting, packed with chunky meat and veg
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1⁄2 celery stick, sliced
- 500g diced braising beef
- 200ml red wine (optional)
- 700ml beef stock (or chicken)
- 500g swede, peeled and cut into chunky dice
- 300g floury potatoes (such as Maris Piper), diced
- 3 thyme sprigs 1 bay leaf
- green vegetables, to serve (optional)
Heat the oil in a flameproof casserole dish over a medium-high heat. Fry the onions and celery for a few mins until turning brown. Add the beef and brown all over for 3-4 mins. Pour in the wine, if using, and let it reduce by half. Add the stock and toss in the swede, potatoes, thyme and bay leaf. Season and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat, cover with a lid and leave for 1 hour. If you want to reduce the liquid a little, remove the lid, turn up the heat and cook for a further 10-15 mins or until the sauce has thickened.
Season to taste and remove the thyme sprigs and bay leaf. Serve with some green veg, if you like.
